Robert Schattner, Founder and President of Purofirst of Metropolitan Washington, Passes Away

Rockville, MD — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Schattner, the

Founder and President of Purofirst of Metropolitan Washington, who passed away on August

14, 2025. Robert was a beloved leader, mentor, and friend whose impact extended far beyond

the business world.

A graduate of George Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in Business and

Finance Administration, Robert founded Purofirst of Metropolitan Washington in 1994 with a

vision to provide reliable, compassionate emergency restoration services. Under his

leadership, the company became a trusted name, known for its professionalism and genuine

care for the people it serves.

“Robert was the foundation of our company,” said Michael Park, Robert’s business partner of

over 25 years and the co-owner of Purofirst. “He taught us that success isn’t just about what

you build, but how you treat people along the way. His legacy will continue in every home we

restore and every life we touch. Purofirst is Robert’s legacy and the entire team at Purofirst is

committed to continuing that legacy and serving the DC Metro area for many years to come.”

Robert had over 30 years of real estate development/construction experience ranging from

the conversion of apartments houses into condominiums to the redevelopment and sale of

inner-city properties to the building and selling of speculative homes throughout the

Washington, DC metropolitan area.
